John was the first artist I ever signed. Albeit it was just a “friends” deal with Myspace Records but in the tradition of credit hoarding A&R’s everywhere I’ll claim him as my discovery anyway. Lol. Seriously though, I am so proud of all the progress he’s made and now he’s an artist on Mercury/Def Jam with a hot new song featuring Pusha T for you to enjoy.

This picture is from the night in New York that Erin performed in Hot 97′s “Who’s Next” show. One of the VIPs in the crowd that night was Pusha T’s manager Steven Victor who was so impressed with her that he made a point of getting Pusha on this remix. The video I directed for Say will be premiering in the next few weeks and I think you’re going to like it.
The BET Hip Hop Awards gets a lot of criticism but no one can argue how dope the cyphers are. Here’s the best one from this year featuring Kanye West, Pusha T, Big Sean, CyHi Da Prynce and Common. Catch up on the rest of the cyphers over at 2dopeboyz.com.
First of all, let’s recognize how significant it is that SNL even had Kanye on the show considering the fact that Kanye started the second verse of Power with “F–k SNL and the whole cast.” What he did on that SNL stage probably had Lorne Michaels glad he decided to let those lyrics flow like water under the bridge. Kanye put on a visual spectacle by using a completely white backdrop and an impressive crew of ballerinas which made for an incredible contrast to his fiery delivery in that red suit. Notice he how changed up those lyrics about SNL too. See what happens when you give peace a chance. Oh yeah. I really took it there. He also performed Runaway featuring Pusha T.
In other Kanye news, he released yet another new song in his G.O.O.D. Friday series, despite being upset about songs he didn’t intend on leaking getting out. It features Kid Cudi, Pusha T, John Legend, Lloyd Banks & Ryan Leslie.
