I’ll never forget when my friend Shelley got me out to one of their first shows and we proceeded to dance our asses off. 2AM Club has the kind of fun that I always want to have. It’s refreshing to see a new band not take themselves too seriously and serve up such a dope soundtrack for the good times. Check it out below and download it here.

As he builds up to the release of his album Blvck Swan Theory, Yonas released this as an appetizer but this mixtape ends up feeling like more than just a prelude. It’s an eclectic ride and the way he weaves between rapping and his understatedly great singing voice leaves me expecting big things from the album when it comes.

Fashawn delivers his most melodic project so far with Champagne & Styrofoam Cups. It goes down smooth just like title suggests.

G.O.O.D. Music is definitely earning it’s title this week. Most hip hop fans have gotten their ears on the leak of Cruel Summer and this album Big Sean put out for free (so we’ll call it a mixtape). Detroit is packed with incredible collaborations with Common, Jhene Aiko and J Cole (among others). While a lot of the mixtape is more of the fun we’ve come to expect from Big Sean, songs like Once Bitten, Twice Shy (produced by Hit Boy) have real depth.

Some meat on the bones of this free album. It came out earlier this summer but I’m finally getting a chance to chew on it. Well done Mr. Chrys and your executive producer Timbaland knows a thing or two (or 3…or 4) too.

Jeff just seems to be getting better. On this mixtape he features some of the hottest new songs along with classics from back in the day and it all seems to make sense together the way he mixes them. Shout out to LRG and Complex for sponsoring it.

I’ve previewed it, posted a look at the making of it and now it’s time for you to hear it.
Suite 823 is Mateo’s best work so far.

Theophilus consistently comes with fresh music and this collection of 17 new tracks keeps it going. A$AP Rocky, Big Boi, Sade and Mark Ronson all lend their talents to it. Theophilus even does an incredible reinterpretation of the Wang Chung classic Dance Hall Days which you can sample below. Download Rose Island Vol. 1 free right here.

Just below is a clip of the performance Kardinal gave on Sway In The Morning and something tells me once you see it you’ll want to download this new mixtape right here.
