2010 Grammy Weekend

February 1, 2010  |  Behind the Scenes  |  Leave A Comment

URB Magazine just posted an article about how The Roots Jam Session is “Grammy Week’s Best Party” and I’m going to have to agree with them. How Questlove and the rest of the band pull together such a variety of great artists and pull off such a spontaneous show is nothing short of amazing. This picture was taken backstage by Mel Cole just before they went on and performed with John Legend, Mos Def, Estelle, and Jay Electronica among others. I heard they had a rehearsal earlier so I asked Questlove how the rehearsal went, he laughed and gave me a look as if to say they tried having one. They were dope regardless.

Maxwell’s been a friend for 8 years and counting so when he won his first 2 Grammy awards yesterday I was ecstatic. Everyone knows his music is incredible but I was especially happy cause it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. Last night we celebrated at the Mondrian along with Michelle Williams, Mateo and a bunch of other great folks that feel the same way.

Trace Interview w/ Maxwell

Coming back after an 8 year hiatus in the music business isn’t easy but my brother Maxwell made it look like child’s play this past year. Not only did he manage to pick up where he left off, he’s also nominated for 6 Grammy’s now! This interview will give you incredible perspective into the mind of true artist and one of the most genuine people I know.
