When the curator of one of my favorite music sites (Herfection) makes a point of emailing me about a new artist, I pay attention. Once again, the incredible ear of Heather Widener doesn’t disappoint cause she’s in the corner of a real hip hop gem with King Mez.
My Everlasting Zeal is the first studio album from the North Carolina native and it features beats by some of my favorites like Omen and J. Cole. King Mez’s voice reminds me of John Forte’s but his lyrics and knack for putting songs together definitely stand apart.

iSH is an artist from my birth city, Toronto. Last year he released a mixtape titled The Name is iSH and then followed that up with the release of his single Priceless which charted top 40 on radio in Canada. Now he’s about to drop his second mixtape titled Long Days, Short Nights and this remix of Carousel’s Here Now should get you excited for it.
