Working on Obama’s campaign was one of the best things I’ve ever done. The collective effort of all the people who made a difference was truly revolutionary and HBO made a documentary about it. This trailer for it is great- especially that kid at the phone bank!
Apparently This Is It is already sold out everywhere and according to Elizabeth Taylor’s twitter we won’t be disappointed when we leave the theater. She said, “It is the single most brilliant piece of filmmaking I have ever seen.” Granted, she’s a little bias since she was a good friend of Michael Jackson but it seems like that would make her even more critical about how he is portrayed now. This trailer seems to echo her review.

This is a very unique performance from “Ukraine’s Got Talent”. A beautiful sand animator named Kseniya Simonova with nothing but dark sand, background music, and her talented fingertips manages to wordlessly tell the story of the Nazi invasion of the Ukraine, with scenes transformed into war-ravaged landscapes, civilians fleeing, and a pretty girl aging before our eyes into a grieving old widow and, then, a tomb for an unknown soldier. Powerful. She deservedly won it.

I rarely post trailers but this got me feeling some kind of way…I miss NYC…
It’s a dance called the Liberian Whop and this kid is great at it!
The way she graciously asked Taylor Swift to come back on stage to finish her acceptance speech at the VMA’s is another example but here is a clip from her on tour in Sydney, Australia as she sings Halo to a young girl named Chelsea suffering from cancer. Very moving moment.
