These performances on SNL over the weekend got me excited about Kanye’s sixth solo album Yeezus (dropping June 18). He’s at his best when he’s rocking the boat.

Don’t let the song title fool you, Drake gets open about his trust issues again and he borrows from Destiny’s Child’s song Say My Name to make his point this time.
I wouldn’t trust him to babysit my nephew but damn this dude is creatively ill. This self directed video got me open for his new album Wolf when it drops April 2nd.

I’ll never forget when my friend Shelley got me out to one of their first shows and we proceeded to dance our asses off. 2AM Club has the kind of fun that I always want to have. It’s refreshing to see a new band not take themselves too seriously and serve up such a dope soundtrack for the good times. Check it out below and download it here.

At the rate Kendrick’s been ascending in the hip hop ranks, it was only a matter of time that a collaboration like this would happen. They both bring their A games on this remix with plenty of lyrics that will have you hitting the rewind button. Jay usually dominates any song he’s on but Kendrick’s presence is undeniably as strong here.
If you’re going to sample James Blake’s The Wilhelm Scream, you better do something dope with it. Lucky for us, Big K.R.I.T. does. A song from his upcoming King Remembered In Time and a great video for it directed by Luke Choi of KRSP.

My friend Johnny doesn’t hold back any of his awesome eccentricity on this new album The Nothing. Over some very unique sample-free production, he weaves between singing and rapping on a very unpredictable musical experience.

Cole included a note with this audio offering:
It’s time.
I appreciate you giving me the time I needed to grow, experiment, and find the direction for my 2nd album.. And I have. Along the way I’ve recorded at least 4 albums worth of material, lots of it being unfinished demo versions waiting to be polished up, some of them are great songs and important stories that just won’t make the album (either they don’t fit Sonically, don’t fit Theme, or there’s just not enough space) .
Tonight, I want to give you a few of these songs because you deserve them. It’s hard as fuck for me to keep all this music from you for so long, so I know it’s been hard for you to wait. Thank you for your patience. Vibe out to these songs in their raw form, no polish.. just a lot of my soul..
The wait is over.
Truly Yours,
Born Sinner

Drizzy won for Best Rap Album at the Grammy’s and now we’re getting a feel for his upcoming album with this lead off single. The skit in the middle on this adds some comic relief to this understated buzz record.
