Hello 2014

January 3, 2014  |  Buzzing

Around this time of year it’s cliché to make New Year’s Resolutions, yet we all do it because there is a renewed sense of hope in a new calendar year. It feels like the almighty reset button.

On New Years Eve, I celebrated with a few friends who’ve stuck with their resolutions and turned them into results. Alexis and Victor (pictured above) have two of the most buzzed about projects in Hollywood coming out this year. Alexis is starring in ABC’s Mixology and Victor is starring in the film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey. They spent last year in committed action, passionately dedicated to their dreams.

I spent last year figuring out what my dream is all over again. It occurred to me that unless I take the time to get clear about my vision, the road ahead would keep being foggy. My 2013 was a lab. I did leadership and meditation courses. I dove into powerful books and inspired conversation. Most importantly, I fell in love.

The year ahead is taking all that development and taking flight with it. Now I’m clear about my destination and what it’s going to take. It’s definitely not just about being hopeful, it’s about being committed. It’s about taking consistent and inspired action towards our dreams.

I see you 2014, and I’m ready.

  1. I could not agree more about actualizing personal development. Success and achievement takes work, commitment and, most of all, patience & persistence. while we cannot control the end result we sure can actively engage in plotting our own trajectory. Ideas are meant to be birthed into action! Happy New Year, Q.
